Motley Crue T-Shirts
Motley Crue is a heavy metal rock band. The band was created in 1981 by Tommy Lee and Nikki Sixx in Los Angeles, California. Motley Crue’s band members include Tommy Lee, Nikki Sixx, Vince Neil, and Mick Mars. Motley Crue is one of the best and well-known heavy metal bands worldwide, and the band has had over a million records sold. Motley Crue is known for their great music, but they also are known for having wild lifestyles.
Tommy Lee and Vince Neil knew each other from high school. When Tommy Lee was trying to form the band they immediately hired Mick Mars, then asked Vince to join the band. The two seen how he worked the crowd in Hollywood, and wanted him. Vince first declined, then Tommy asked him once again, and he agreed to join. The band was created, but they had to come up with a name. Mick Mars suggested Christmas, but the other guys didn’t like the name. Mick Mars remembered a phrase, “A motley looking crew” that someone said about a band he previously played with, and after modifying the spelling the group came up with Motley Crue.
Motley Crue’s first album was “Stick to Your Guns/Toast of the Town”, then in 1981 they debuted “Too Fast for Love”. Motley Crue’s first tour was called, “Cruesing Through Canada Tour”, which was in 1982. The band was arrested at the airport for wearing spiked wardrobe. The wardrobe was considered to be dangerous, because of the spikes, and Vince Neil had adult magazines, which was against the law, and considered indecent material.
Motley Crue hit it big during the late eighties. The band wore a lot of make-up, outrageous clothing, and were into drinking and drugs. In 1987, Nikki Sixx was declared legally dead due to a heroin overdose. He was revived, and entered treatment the following year. All of the band members except Mick Mars went into drug treatment in 1989. That same year the band released the album “Dr. Feelgood”, which hit number one on the music charts and remained there six months.
In 1992, Vince Neil left the band. John Corabi replaced Vince Neil. Vince returned to the band in 1997, but Tommy Lee left the band two years later to pursue a solo career. The band again reunited in 2004, then started a world tour in 2005.
Motley Crue has just announced their final tour. The final tour begins on February 19, 2015 in Australia, and the final concert ends on December 31, 2015 in Los Angeles, California.
