Her music jump started the revival of teen pop during the late 1990s and early 2000s, and so she received the nickname the "Princess of Pop". Her entertainment career started with stage and television appearances and then Spears signed with Jive Records in 1997 at 15 years old, she released …Baby One More Time in 1999 and Oops!... I Did it again in 2000 and both were immediately internationally popular and reach certified diamond in the United States. These albums have become two of the best-selling albums of all time and she is also the best-selling teenage artist of all time. The hit song …Baby One More Time was named the greatest debut single of all time by Rolling Stone in 2020. Spears’ Oops!... I Did It Again has held a 15-year record for fastest-selling album by a female artist in the United States selling over 1.3 million copies in the first week! She released the album Britney in 2001 and in 2003 released In the Zone. For these albums, she switched up her style and took on a more mature and provocative role, this also landed her the start role in the feature film Crossroads that released in 2002. She released her fifth studio album, Blackout, in 2007 on which she was the executive producer, and it is often considered the best work of her career. The promotion for the release of this album was limited because she went through a lot of personal struggles which were highly publicized. Due to this, she was involuntarily placed into a conservatorship under her father. Since that time, she released the hugely popular albums, Circus in 2008 and Femme Fatale in 2011. The release of Femme Fatale sparked what is now known as her most successful era of singles in the US charts. She caught a deal for a four-year tour residency for Britney: Piece of Me, at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. She has won that award for 7 years in only a 12 year time frame, by far the most since the internet was created. Spears as been awarded the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her heavily choreographed videography, which is often considered a big contributor for the success of her career. She has earned numerous awards and accolades, including a Grammy Award; thirteen Guinness World Records; six MTV Video Music Awards; seven Billboard Music Awards; the inaugural Radio Disney Icon Award; and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
